Beginner’s Guide to Solar Inverters: Power Your Home with Amazing Solar Solutions
G’day, mates! If you’re keen to dip your toes into…
Canadian Solar is one of the world’s leading solar panel manufacturers, is currently ranked as the fifth highest panel manufacturers by volume and regarded as one of the ‘most bankable’ manufactures. Canadian Solar produces solar panels designed for residential, commercial and utility-scale applications which are competitively priced and have a good reputation for quality and reliability. Along with most other large volume manufactures, Canadian Solar has transitioned to using higher efficiency mono PERC half-cut cells in almost all new generation panels.
High Efficiency: Canadian Solar panels are known for their high efficiency, allowing them to generate more electricity from the available sunlight. Higher efficiency panels can be particularly beneficial in regions with excellent solar resources like Australia.
Reliability and Durability: Canadian Solar panels are designed and manufactured to withstand various weather conditions, including high temperatures, humidity, and strong winds. They undergo rigorous quality control processes to ensure long-term performance and durability.
Stringent Quality Standards: Canadian Solar follows strict quality control measures throughout the manufacturing process. Their panels often undergo independent third-party testing and certifications to meet international standards, ensuring reliable and high-quality products.
Diverse Product Range: Canadian Solar offers a diverse range of solar panel models with varying power outputs, sizes, and specifications. This allows customers to choose the panels that best suit their specific needs, whether it’s for residential, commercial, or utility-scale applications.
Warranty and Support: Canadian Solar typically provides warranty options for their panels, offering peace of mind to customers in case of any performance issues. It’s important to review the specific warranty terms and conditions applicable to Australian installations.
Local Presence and Support: Canadian Solar has established a presence in Australia, including local offices and support networks. This allows customers to access technical assistance, after-sales support, and local expertise when it comes to installations and system integration.
Monocrystalline Panels: Canadian Solar produces monocrystalline solar panels that are made from a single crystal structure of silicon. Monocrystalline panels are known for their high efficiency and sleek appearance. They are often favored for residential and commercial installations where space is limited, and aesthetics are important.
Polycrystalline Panels: Canadian Solar also manufactures polycrystalline solar panels, which are made from multiple silicon crystals. Polycrystalline panels have a bluish appearance and offer a slightly lower efficiency compared to monocrystalline panels. They are often more cost-effective and widely used for both residential and commercial installations.
Bifacial Panels: Canadian Solar offers bifacial solar panels, which are designed to capture sunlight from both the front and rear sides of the module. Bifacial panels can generate electricity from sunlight that is reflected off the ground or other nearby surfaces, increasing overall energy production. These panels are suitable for installations where there is significant ground or surface reflectivity.
PERC (Passivated Emitter Rear Contact) Panels: Canadian Solar incorporates PERC technology in some of its solar panel models. PERC panels feature a passivation layer at the rear side of the solar cells, enhancing light absorption and improving energy conversion efficiency. PERC panels can offer improved performance in low-light conditions.
Smart Modules: Canadian Solar also offers smart modules that integrate additional features such as built-in optimizers, monitoring systems, or microinverters. These modules provide enhanced monitoring capabilities, potential performance optimization, and improved system flexibility.

If batteries are used, then technically yes. But in practice, when grid power is available, it is recommended to use solar power in combination with the grid. Solar power can be integrated with your existing power sources (such as grid power, inverter, generator, etc.) so that the solar power to be consumed first is always automatically given priority. However, if you are using photovoltaics for night-time use or in a remote location, it is quite common to have solar systems that run on batteries.
Unless your solar energy system includes battery storage and you are fully off the grid, you will still receive a bill from your utility. However, you can dramatically reduce your bill, or even cut the amount you owe to $0, with a solar panel system that matches your energy use.
Solar panels are a highly proven, durable, and reliable technology and have been in use since the 1950s. A solar system that is designed, installed, and maintained well will operate for 25-30 years. Moreover, since there are no moving parts (unless you are using tracking devices to move modules that tilt with the movement of the Sun), there is practically negligible wear and tear.
Each roof is different. In general, the number of panels needed depends on the amount of electricity used and the amount of sunlight hitting the roof.
