LG Energy Solution is one of the largest lithium-ion battery producers in the world, so their products are extremely vetted and manufactured to the highest standards. Its products are manufactured in South Korea, China, and the U.S. The large range of stationary lithium battery systems has positioned the company as one of the industry leaders in home solar battery systems and larger commercial energy storage (ESS) installations.
LG Energy Solution incorporates a patented ‘Safety Reinforced Separator’ which increases the mechanical and thermal stability of the battery cells. Each model in the LG Energy Solution range is equipped with a battery management system, this enables total autonomy of the battery.
Unlike the Tesla Powerwall, the LG Energy Solution is a DC battery. One of the biggest advantages of a DC battery is that it has better round-trip efficiency than an AC battery.
In other words, less energy is lost when the battery is charged and discharged than with an AC battery, since some power is lost to heat when DC power is inverted to AC.
